Project Spotlight: Modern L-Shaped Kitchen in Jubilee Hills

See how KitchenCraft Interiors transformed a dated kitchen into a stunning modern space. Before & after photos and design insights.

When the Sharma family approached KitchenCraft Interiors, they had a common problem: a 10-year-old kitchen that was functional but outdated. The existing layout was inefficient, storage was inadequate, and the aesthetic felt trapped in another decade.

The Challenge

  • Space: 120 sq ft L-shaped kitchen

  • Budget: ₹8-10 lakhs

  • Timeline: 6 weeks (family wedding approaching)

  • Requirements: More storage, modern look, easy maintenance

The Design Process

Initial Consultation

Our designers spent time understanding how the family actually uses their kitchen. Mrs. Sharma does heavy Indian cooking daily, while their daughter occasionally bakes. This meant prioritizing:

  • Heavy-duty chimney with good suction

  • Dedicated tandoor/tava storage

  • Separate baking supplies area

Layout Optimization

The original layout wasted corner space and had the refrigerator blocking natural light. By relocating the fridge and adding a magic corner unit, we gained 20% more usable storage.

Key Design Elements

Handleless White Cabinets

Clean, contemporary white cabinets with push-to-open mechanisms created the modern look the family wanted. The Greenlam laminate in 'Polar White' is fingerprint-resistant and easy to clean.

Quartz Countertop

We chose a grey-veined quartz that complements the white cabinets while hiding stains better than pure white options. The full backsplash in the same material created a seamless look.

Smart Storage Solutions

  1. Corner Magic Corner: Maximizes the L-junction with pull-out shelves

  2. Tall Unit: Floor-to-ceiling pantry with pull-out baskets

  3. Under-Sink Organizer: Space-efficient solution for cleaning supplies

  4. Masala Pullout: Custom drawer for Indian spice storage

  5. Cutlery Organizer: Hettich's modular cutlery system

Lighting Design

Under-cabinet LED strips illuminate the workspace, while recessed ceiling lights provide ambient lighting. A pendant light over the breakfast counter adds a decorative touch.
